lucifer morningstar was once one of heaven's brightest angels, full of fantastical ideas for all of creation. he flourished under God's watchful eye, building upon his father's vision like a musician composing a beautiful and glorious symphony. for eons, all was good.then God created man: adam and lilith. they were beautiful.lucifer was quickly enamored with them.when God left creation in the hands of their trusted angels, the rules were simple: "it's a self-sustaining system. don't fuck it up." the problem was that no one knew how the so-called self-sustaining system actually worked. this worried the angels, who promptly created a great set of rules in hopes of maintaining what they perceived to be a very delicate and complex balance of order.this perception was wrong. God had, in fact, built in a very large margin of error. but no one knew that.lucifer's decision to walk the earth with adam and lilith was greatly contested in Heaven. while he came to know man as beloved companions, the others maintained a careful distance. they believed Heaven to be an observant guardian of creation, not an active participant.the more time he spent in eden, the more the angel's views changed. he started to question the status quo. lucifer's most radical idea was free will. adam and lilith were self-aware beings with thoughts and feelings, wants and desires, he thought, so why shouldn't they choose how they live their lives?TO BE CONTINUED...

  • heaven's light.  set before lucifer was cast down. pre-humanity's creation - garden of eden. he's happy, healthy, and heavenly. a prince of heaven, the golden angel has a grand ol' time hanging out in eden with man and beast in paradise, enjoying the fruits of God's labors. though tensions are rising between himself and the heaven's elders. how long can he ignore that growing problem?

  • big boss of hell.  set before s1. immediately after being cast down - just before season 1. if heaven wants to make him the villain, oh, he'll be a villain! with lilith at his side, the king of hell quickly rises to power, reveling in the abandonment of heaven's many rules. but as things settle and sour, the initial freedom is overshadowed by the reality of humanity's sins. lucifer struggles to come to terms with man's fall, his disillusionment setting off a dark spiral that eventually fractures his own family.

  • hotelier  post s1. the hotel is rebuilt - charlie temporarily kicks him out. lucifer is now fully devoted to helping charlie fulfill her dream. often staying in his own special wing of the newly rebuilt hazbin hotel, the king can regularly be found entertaining guests, selling the idea of redemption. the road ahead will be difficult, but perhaps charlie can succeed where he couldn't. maybe she really can change heaven's minds.

  • reluctant peacemaker  default verse.   set post s2. anything not tagged with a specific verse falls here. he didn't fully believe it until he saw it, until she did it. charlie redeemed a sinner. and now the hard part begins: working with heaven. forced proximity to heaven wears on the king's frayed nerves, but he perseveres. though not without missteps. and not everyone in hell is thrilled at the idea of heaven's involvement in their realm. how long before tensions boil over? will heaven or hell crack first?

  • disney.  sparknotes version for now just to get the idea(s) down. option 1: never cast down. happy lil angel that loves hanging out with people, often answers prayers and cries for help. aka the heaven's light verse but make it disney. OH! wait. better example, like the scrapped starboy concept from wish. option 2: cast down from heaven, his punishment is to live on earth among the mortals he so favored. but the years have not been kind, corrupting the once angelic being and leaving him jaded and detached.

  • genshin impact.  many years ago lucifer resided in celestia, born of the stars to watch lovingly over the inhabitants of teyvat. but his firm belief that the residents of teyvat should be privy to the larger truths of their world led to clashes with the heavenly principles and his exile to the abyss. years in the dark realm, destroyed his once sweet soul yet divinity refused to let him die. now twisted into something his former self wouldn't recognize, the self-proclaimed king of the abyss has finally clawed his way out of the darkness, back to the human realm. but will his presence help or hurt the delicate balance of teyvat?
